A discussion of Bob Perelman’s book The Marginalization of Poetry was published as the Vol. 1 No. 4 May 1997 pamphlet in The Impercipient Lecture Series, edited and published by Jennifer Moxley and Steve Evans from Providence, Rhode Island. The publishers and the five authors have kindly given permission for these papers to be published in Jacket. The pamphlet contains readings and responses by the above authors to Bob Perelman’s book, directly followed by Mr Perelman’s counter-response. The papers were publicly presented as part of an evening organized and moderated by the poet Sean Killian, on Saturday, March 22, 1997 at 7:30pm in the Segue Performance Space at 303 East 8th Street, New York City.
