You Are So Beguiling
You are so beguiling
in the brown light
of pines, in your
new orange bathing suit,
the birds fall out
of the sky into your
flower pots when you come
back from the woods,
and when you bathe
in the low river,
even the sick shad
falls in love with you,
rosy and humid and lithe,
and swims under your ass
while you crouch in the river
which is otherwise unhealthy.
